The Human Design Reflector is one of the five types within the Human Design system, representing around or less than 1% of the population. 

WHAT IS A HUMAN DESIGN reflector?

Reflector are the cosmic, rare energies. They are often referred to as "lunar beings" because the position of the Moon at their birth strongly influences their chart and personality.

Reflectors have an unpredictable energy pattern, and their decision-making process involves waiting a full lunar cycle (approximately 28 days) before making significant choices. They play aunique role in society as evaluators and mirrors of energy, offering valuable insights and feedback

WHAT MAKES SOMEONE A reflector?

Have a completely open chart, aka no Centers or Channels defined.

WHAT ARE SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF reflectors?

• Reflectors are the rarest type in Human Design.

• They are innately intuitive, wise, and sensitive with the ability to express themselves in a multitude of ways.

• They are incredible facilitators and can easily tell what's working and how to improve it.

• They are in tune with their environments, people, spaces, and even the cosmic weather.

• They offer a non-judgmental, objective perspective and approach to things.

• They are usually the heart of their community or team.

• They need rest and alone time often.

• Self-care is key for Reflectors.

• Reflectors amplify and feel everything.

• Since they are sensitive to their environments, it's important that they surround themselves with people who make them feel good and in places that feel good.

• Their identity is fluid and will switch based on who they are with.

• They are pleasantly surprised and delighted when they let go of expectations.

WHO ARE SOME FAMOUS reflectors?

Michael Jackson, Sandra Bullock, Amma, and Rosalynn Carter are all examples of famous Reflectors.

THE reflector AURA

The Reflector Aura samples and feels the energy of everyone else. It is often described asgentle, non-intrusive, and accepting. They have a receptive energy field that allows them toabsorb and sample the energies of the people and environments around them. This aura qualitymakes them highly attuned to the energies of others and their surroundings.

reflector STRATEGY

Reflectors need to wait to be included to bring aligned opportunities to them. This can look very similar to an invitation (Projector’s strategy) or an initiation (Manifestor’s strategy).

This strategy is formally called “wait a lunar cycle,” but we’ll touch on that with authorities. I’ve also seen it called “wait to be carried” and “wait to be invited/initiated.”

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF A reflector IS IN ALIGNMENT?

We can look to the Signature Theme, or Alignment Theme, to know if an Energy Type in Human Design is in alignment. For Reflectors, their Signature Theme is Surprise. This means that when a Reflector is operating in alignment with their true purpose, they experience a wonderful sense of surprise or delight.

This feeling is a Reflector’s internal feedback mechanism, telling them that they're on the right track and that they should continue down the path they are on. Being surprised is often a sign a Reflector is waiting to be included, tuning into their environment and the lunar energy over 28 days before deciding something.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF A reflector IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT?

We can look to the Not-Self Theme, or Misalignment Theme, to know if an Energy Type in Human Design is out of alignment. For Reflectors, their Not-Self Theme is Disappointment. This means that when a Reflector is not operating in alignment with their true purpose, they may experience disappointment in themselves or the world.

This feeling is a signal that they are not on the right track and that they need to make a change. By tuning into their environment and giving themselves the time and space to make a decision,they can tap back into their natural sense of delight, wonder, and surprise.
